I'm back from my travels and here's what I brought back with me :)
Along with a whole bunch of ribbons & laces which I've yet to sort.
Very happy with my new stash of treasures and can't wait to sew new pillows with the new fabrics!
I'm still planing my January-February schedules and I'm not sure when should I
continue my Inspirational Journals but it'll be soon, promise.

Another new year's resolution would be sew more, smile more & stay happy and true to myself always.

BeaniPet on a TV Show

 Truly I feel very blessed and really lucky to be featured on all the newspapers/magazines and now a TV talk show! It was a learning experience for me and a great exposure for my pillows. I was very nervous being on the live talk show and with no experience at all it was really nerve wracking for me. I had to demonstrate some DIY on the talk show while replying some of the host's Elaine Daly questions and unintentionally needle myself in the process of sewing. I too made some mistakes but over all it was a fun and learning experience for me. Very blessed. Looking forward to a great 2013 :)

DIY Fancy Pins and Brooches

Thank you to Seventeen Magazine for interviewing me and
featuring me in their DIY column :)
Here's how to make a fancy pins to decorate your hair
and beautiful brooches for your everyday fashion wear!

Steps:
1. Measure and cut the fabric to 12.5 inches x 3 inches. Then fold it in half.

2. Sew gathers from one end to the other end.
Pull the thread at the end to compress the fabric together forming a circle.

3. Sew both ends together forming a complete circle.
Then add the button to the middle.

4. Sew the safety pin / bobby pin at the back.
Then use the super glue and apply it on the threads to seal them tight.
This will make sure the safety pin / bobby pin won’t move around.
(Apply some super glue on the thread. This will ensure the pin/bobby pin is secure.)

5. Try out different materials, mix and match things around
to spice up your fashion wardrobe!
Most importantly just go with the flow and have fun
making your fancy pins and broohes!

Above are some examples of what you can make with this DIY steps!
