Inspirations - Eat meets West

Using simple form and lines to depict the culture of the Eastern vs the Western. Truly work of a genius. Simplicity speaks so much louder and using the less is more concept, it works. And I find her interpretation quite true. Inspiration - Oamul

I stumble upon this brilliant artist, Oamul. I love the fact that his works are gif animated and painted with texture and brush strokes. It really inspires me to think out of the box, explore more and go beyond boundaries. I really like his world map travels and the 24 solar terms. I've got to ask bear what the wording means... Can't read mandarin. This is truly an inspirational find. Ideas flooding in and ready to design and create! Have a wonderful Wednesday too.

Foodie - Illustrated Classic Cheesecake & Tiramisu

 These illustration done by tambouille are just so gorgeous and french! I pick 2 of my favourite illustration and share it here. One is Classic Bake Cheese Cake and another one is the Classic Tiramisu. Hope you'll have a wonderful weekend too! Bon Appétit!

Inspirations - Silent Deer

So caught up with work, emails, deadlines, tasks, meetings... I need silence.

Just some peace and quiet. It's time to let go of all those negativity and just forgive.

Taking a deep breath and continue to work in peace and tranquility.

Foodie - Yumi Sakugawa

This week and for the next four fridays I'll be blogging foodie post that is Illustrated base. This is because it's Ramadan period and I wouldn't want to post anything that will offend any of my readers or temp those who are fasting with delicious food photos. Today I would like to share with you a very interesting artist, Yumi Sakugawa who does really unique illustrations on life related topics. Do brows through her site and you'll see what I mean. Inspirations - Organic Knots

 When I first saw this blog jungjung from japan introduced by my friend Tako from Evangelione, I was dazzle by her knitting artworks. Such fine works with such details, truly a work of a master. Her recent works introduces flowers and I really can't resist to share her works here. Your art is as good as how you want it to be and her fine details define her. In my journey towards my art, I too seek for finer details and better quality finishing. No one is perfect. That's why I'm always challenge myself and seeking ways to improve. I will never stop learning for sure and the satisfaction I get from my work is all worth it. I do wish, hope and pray I get to continue this journey of mine, for as long as possible...
Never stop learning, never give up.

Inspirational - Petite Raindrops & minipet

 Thinking of decorating ideas for my upcoming events. I've got 2 bazaars coming up, one in June and another one in July. I was thinking of doing some watercolour illustrated raindrops for my backdrop. Haven't decided on the idea and the colour scheme but I hope by the time comes, I'll know what I want. Above is one beautiful magical raindrop illustration by Cella Anita Celic. And below is by My Lovely Thing. Both of these similarity is that each raindrops has its own story, overlapping silhouette and graphics making it interesting, beautiful and enchanting.

 

I thought of using raindrops because of my new product, minipet. Petite little pets like raindrops. I'll be launching it soon and here's the sneak peek... More images coming real soon on our FB Page.

Close my eyes, breathe and listen... Learning how to stay calm and stress free. Due to my recent works and involvement with other works, I'm feeling a bit stressed up. Got to breathe in and let go of my endless thoughts. Taking a moment to appreciate life and its magnificent sight.

Spring... where Sakura blossoms and falls off its branches like floating fairies dancing in the air. Enchanting, whimsical and magical. The image by Rickuz transport me into another world and it's so captivating, I can be lost in its beauty. This will definitely inspired me to sew my Beanies & write magical enchanting stories for them.

Inspirational Wednesday - Amy Sol

 During my study years I already fell in love with Amy Sol's illustration. Her work can transport you to another world and expend one's imagination. Feminine, dreamy and whimsical, something I can relate to. During her early years, her works are more muted to chromatic schemes with heavy wood textures. As she progresses, I see that her works now has more contrast to it and she plays with some brighter bold colours. Every artist will have their own progress and change as the years goes by... No matter what are the changes, as long as we stay true to ourself, then we have no regrets.

Inspirational Wednesday - Live everyday

 Whatever happens, life goes on. Either we choose to live it to its fullest or just let it passes us by. Learning to appreciate everything in life and loving even the smallest gesture or act may change one's life. This year another resolution would be to do more for others and give time to those in need. I'm really thankful that I'm able to love my work, my handmade, enjoy good company and great food. Although living may be hard, I'm glad I'm surrounded with lots of love.

 A very Happy New Year to you and may this year be a blessed one for all of us. I've just got back from my long Christmas extended to New Year eve holiday and next week I'll be flying off to another trip. What a wonderful 2013 to look forward to. I'll spend my first few days of January to pen down my 2012 journey, all that I'm grateful for and then also journal down my resolution for 2013 - "I hope this year will be kinder and my 1st resolution for all the years to come is to spend more time with my family. Learn how to cherish them with the time given so I wouldn't miss any moment."

Inspire me Thursday - Sunshine & Dreams

This is how I've been feeling:

Drifting aimlessly, time seems to pass by real fast and noting is achieved at the end of the day. 

With the recent events, I've lost my way and I don't feel the love or the positive energy needed in my sewing.

So yes, I've not pick up my needles to sewn anything since December.

I kept telling myself it's time to move on and it's time to start sewing all the pilled up orders.

But I'm lost in my thoughts and emotions most of the time. So that sums up half of my December.

What I need - Inspiration:

I know I need time to recover and find my way back to my passion.

I know I need sunshine in my heart. To genuinely smile without forcing because I smile all the time while sewing.

I need hope and dreams that fuels my heart so I may seek my passion again.

I know I need to let go and let in.

I know it in my head but it's pretty hard to convince my heart to feel the same as my brain.

So I think I need to tell my heart this:

Although you feel so much pain, sadness, anger, grieve and lost. Acknowledge it and accept it.

It's only human to feel this way and you are human. You don't need to be a superwoman.

In every darkness, there will be light. Believe in it and you'll find your sunshine soon.

Time heals but you have to make an effort to let it heal you. You are strong but it's okay to feel weak.

So open your heart and let the healer set you free.

You will be a better person because of this.

And sunshine will soon consume your heart once again.

Foodie Friday - Colourful Glory Macaron

 I just love the unique colours & beauty of Macarons. Always prefer homemade italian macaron recipe which is not as sweet as the french ones. But in the market what you get are the french macarons which are over the top sweet! I don't fancy macaron but I love their artistic colours and shapes. Beautiful foodie art.
